M McLaughlan has been playing the bagpipes for twenty one years. He started playing at the age of fifteen years old in the Cambridgeshire Scottish pipe band in Peterborough. The band played at various functions and was very successful on the competition circuit. They disbanded in 1989 and M McLaughlan decided to compete in solo competitions. In 1995 he Joined Clan Sutherland Pipe Band who were a very successful Grade two band. He left the band in1996 due to other commitments.
Over the years he has played at many Weddings, Funerals, Civic balls, Birthday parties, Bums Nights and corporate functions. He has performed on local radio and TV several times and on national TV performing ‘Amazing Grace’ with the soul singer Ruby Turner for GMTV. He has also played on many recordings for bands and artists playing different styles of music ranging from Folk to Pop music. He has played at The Royal Festival Hall in London, Althorp House, Harrods, The NEC Arena in Birmingham, Glasgow University and Castle Ashby, to name but a few. He provides a professional, helpful and friendly service at all times.
